Hosting

This website is delivered via Vercel. Connection data (such as IP address, time of access and browser information) and technically necessary server logs are processed to deliver the site securely and to fend off attacks.

Services we use

We only use the following services to run GameZoneFinder: Vercel Inc. (USA) delivers the website (hosting); our own database and our own map and image cache run on servers rented from Hostinger in Germany and operated by us; Wikimedia Commons (Wikimedia Foundation, USA) for some venue photos; Resend, Inc. (USA) to send the emails triggered by our forms.

We do not use Google Analytics, PostHog or any other analytics or advertising service, and we do not load fonts from Google servers (fonts are served from our own website).

No tracking, no advertising cookies

GameZoneFinder currently uses no analytics or tracking tools and shows no advertising. We do not set any cookies other than those that are strictly necessary for the site to work. If this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent beforehand where required.

Maps

The map shows map data from OpenStreetMap contributors, rendered with MapLibre. Map tiles, fonts and route calculations are loaded through our own cache server (img.playzonefinder.com), which is run by the same operator, AWL Zentrum Ltd. Your IP address is therefore not passed on to a third-party map provider when the map loads. Links to external route planners open only when you click them.

Videos on our pages

The background videos on our pages are loaded from our own media server (img.gamezonefinder.com), which runs on a server rented from Hostinger in Germany and is operated by AWL Zentrum Ltd. To deliver a video, the server processes your IP address, the time of access, the requested file and browser information. This data is kept in the server's access log for up to 14 days to keep the service secure and to analyse errors, and is then deleted automatically. It is not passed on to third parties and not used for tracking.

Photos from Wikimedia Commons

Some venue photos are loaded directly from Wikimedia Commons (upload.wikimedia.org), run by the Wikimedia Foundation, Inc., USA. When such a photo is shown, your browser connects to Wikimedia's servers, which receive your IP address and browser information. The Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy applies.

Forms: add a place, claim a listing, photos, reviews

If you suggest a place, claim a listing or submit a photo, we process the details you enter (such as name, email address, phone number if given, your message and the photo) solely to handle your request. The details are stored in our own database and sent to our editorial inbox by email. A person reviews every request before anything is published.

Photos are not stored on our servers when you submit them; they reach our editorial team only as an email attachment. Published photos show the name you gave as the author.

For reviews we store the stars, the text and the name you enter. We do not ask for an email address. To prevent abuse we do not store your IP address, only a one-way check value that changes daily. Reviews appear only after a person has checked them, and we delete a review on request.

We send these emails through Resend (Resend, Inc., USA), an email delivery provider that processes the content of the message on our behalf.

Your rights

You can request access to, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing of your data, as well as data portability, and you can object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in the UK the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), or the authority in your EU country of residence.
